Judges

Anna Schönenberger, Switzerland

"Hello,

My name is Anna Schönenberger, I’m living nearby the beautiful lake of Konstanz in Switzerland, nearby the border with Germany and Austria.

Since 1995 I’m inexplicable infected with agility virus. We have two patterdale terriers Batman (Medium 3, retired), Robin (Medium 3). I love what I do and I do what I love – I’m agility trainer and massage healer for dogs.

I really love to judge – this feeling, when someone reads my course in just perfect way for his own dog, choose the best possible line for them, and perform in breath taking harmony. Waiting for the perfect runs is what makes judging so thrilling for me

In my courses I want teams to display their skills and potential, but have a lot of fun anyways regardless of result. I always try to give the handler and the dog real and fair opportunity to solve situations laid on the course.

Looking forward to see all amazing teams in Finland !!!!

See you there, and remember : “No risk = no fun, so run run RUN!!!!!!”

Cédric Bargoin, France

"Hello everyone ! My name is Cédric Bargoin, I live in south of France !

I am absolutely thrilled to judge the Janakkala agility competition ! It's an honor to be part of this amazing event and to have the chance to watch such talented dogs and handlers in action !

I've been involved in the world of agility for 11 years, both as a competitor and recently as a judge (3 years). As a judge, my goal is to create a fair, fun, and supportive environment where every participant can shine and have fun.

I believe that agility is not just about speed, but also about the bond between handler and dog, and the joy they share while competing together.

I’m truly looking forward to seeing all the fantastic runs ! Thank you to the organizers for inviting me to be part of this event, and to all of you for making this competition possible.

Good luck to everyone, and may the best teams win!"

Cedric has competed and judged in many different countries and international events! See the picture for more info

Mona Liljegren, Finland

"Hello everyone

I am Mona Liljegren from Finland. I have been doing agility since 2005 and have competed with different breeds such as corgis, Spanish water dogs and papillons.

I have been a judge since 2023. My goal is to design smooth courses that showcase the cooperation between dog and handler.

Just have fun and enjoy every moment!"

Marko Mäkelä, Finland

"I am Marko Mäkelä from Finland. I've been competing in agility since 1995, with various breeds - Shelties, Border Collies, Spanish Water Dogs, Papillons etc. At the moment my full time job is teaching and coaching agility with under my company Ykslysti. I do it besides Finland also in other countries. I have now been a judge since the end of 2017. And I feel truly honored being invited to judge already so many cool competitions both in Finland and internationally.

I like to run challenging courses with speedy lines and hopefully with some possibilities to have variations both in dogs' lines and handling options. And of course, that's also my goal when I'm designing courses as a judge - to have a course with speed, a proper amount of challenge for the level of class, safe lines, options/variations for handling and dogs' lines.

I always enjoy seeing dogs and handlers having fun on the courses I judge and teach! It keeps me going on - the joy and fun of agility! See you in Janakkala Open in August, can't wait!"
